Why Women Should Practice Jiu-Jitsu

Why-Women-Should-Practice-Jiu-Jitsu-Team-Rhino-Gracie-Jiu-JitsuAt Team Rhino Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, we want everyone to feel welcome to practice Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and fun environment, whether it’s men, women, or children. That’s why we offer a free week to kids and adults alike to let them come in and experience our school for themselves to see all the possibilities of what they can learn with us.

For women especially, there are many great reasons why practicing Jiu-Jitsu should be a part of your routine. Take a look at some of these reasons below, and hopefully, you’ll have a better feel for why BJJ is right for you:

It promotes functionality over looks.

For both men and women, the idea of how you look can be a reason for you to train hard to lose weight or gain muscle. BJJ is a great way to exercise and get your physical fitness in, but it also teaches you to appreciate your body for what it can do, rather than how it looks. Why not train in a way that promotes body positivity!

It provides a community.

Learning a martial art at a school provides all students with the ability to network, socialize, and connect. Women, especially, find a close-knit community of fellow female BJJ students and become connected with each other through both the lessons and group outings held by the school.

It breaks barriers.

The outdated ideas of what women should and shouldn’t be doing for exercise are out the window. BJJ is an awesome self-defense and fitness workout for both men and women, and sticking with a program that isn’t always considered “normal” for women helps to break barriers and makes you into a role model for young girls who see that BJJ is an option for them as well.

For men, women, and children, Team Rhino Gracie Jiu-Jitsu provides an excellent experience in learning a martial art for self-defense, competition, and fitness. To find out more about getting your free week, contact us today!
