Team Rhino Gracie specializes in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling martial arts style that’s great for all ages and experience levels.
We’d love for you to get to know more about the programs we offer at Team Rhino:
Lil Rhinos and Advanced Lil Rhinos
Our Lil Rhinos program is for ages four to six. Not only do we teach grappling skills in this program, but we also cover “life skills” that help young kids get along well with others at home and school. There is room for advancement in this program. Once a child demonstrates focus and confidence in their Jiu-Jitsu skills, they can move up to our Advanced Lil Rhinos program.
The Team Rhino Youth program includes two options based on age. Our Kids program is for ages seven to eleven, while the Tweens program is for ages twelve to fourteen. In both levels, we work with kids to develop the verbal and physical skills necessary to stay safe in a threatening situation. Even quieter kids have the opportunity to become more confident and willing to stand up for themselves.
Our primary goal is to prepare your children to defend themselves against predators and bullies without turning them into one. We teach our students to manage and evade a confrontation without fighting. However, if the threat continues and your child has no other choice but to defend themselves, then they can do so safely and effectively. Our leverage-based Gracie Jiu-Jitsu neutralizes aggressive bullies without causing unnecessary injury.
This program is for those who are fifteen years and older. If you’re an adult new to Jiu-Jitsu, we understand that you might feel nervous about starting a class. You might be wondering if you’ll get hurt. Or you’re worried that you’re going to get beat up. Or you might think you have to be in shape to start class. We’re here to answer all of your questions, and safety is our top priority.
In our classes, you’ll find regular people who want to learn Jiu-Jitsu without getting hurt. We have people that want to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense, weight loss, stress relief, exercise, and to make new friends.
As a new student, you’ll start in our Fundamentals class where you can get comfortable with the basics of Jiu-Jitsu and grappling (before you begin grappling). Our fundamentals class is designed to allow all adults to feel comfortable in close quarters, especially in a grappling situation. Many students typically don’t start grappling with a partner for several weeks or months after they start (unless they want to).
Come and experience Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and see firsthand what makes it the most effective martial art the world has ever known. If you’re curious, we offer a free week to new students.
